Avon Haul Review (04/04/2010)

Yes there are some iteams that are not pictured here. (2- the foot works exfoloating soap and the shower gel. I'll explain later)
1.) Mark mist opportunity : This stuff is a really good product in my opinion. It does what all the mac fix plus does. I personally have the mac fix plus and reading a little bit about it supposedly it has all this stuff really good for your face but I didn't tell a substantial difference between them, to be honest. The only thing is the smell (it's not a horrible smell- just different)of them is a bit different but really that only last a couple of seconds anyways so for the money I think you get twice as much for half the price so I prefer this one. I have repurchased and will continue to.

2.)Avon eyeshadow trio (silverling and plum): I have to be honest, I have only used this once and I have yet to use the silverling one. The color I used was in the plum trio and it was the darkest purple in the trio. I used it as a base and I might have used to much and it creased. So if you were to buy this I would put a base under it like mac painterly paint put or UDPP before and then use this but just a SMALL about so it would not crease. Similar to how you use NYX jumbo pencils. I would not repurchase this because of the consistency (plus I already have bases that do way better than this).

3.)Anew wrinkle zone line smoothing duo: I tried to like this product, I really did.But unfortunately I didn't like it for the purpose in which it was intended. It's supposed to be a concealer for your under eye area. My first problem with it is that it doesn't have enough pigmentation to cover my under eye circles. The the second thing is that when I would put the bottom layer on which it the power it would end up making that area look really really dry. The consistency of this concealer is like the Avon magix face perfecter but thicker than that so I find that if I put it on my cheeks it does do a great job of smoothing out the look of my pores. So I guess it still wasn't money wasted. I guess you could use the powder at the bottom for your face overall if you really wanted to but they really don't even have that many color options. I would not repurchase this.
4.)Sterling silver hammered bypass ring: I love this ring! I have received a few complements on it. The style it pretty unique and I don't see these kinds of rings ofter. I definitely will keep buying silver rings from Avon.
5.)Advanced Techniques moisture sleek: I bought this product hoping that it would be similar to bio silk just because I didn't want to keep buying bio silk (I think its too pricey). I think your should take my opinion on this product like you would with a grain of salt just because of my type of hair. I have short easy to manage hair and on top of that it is pretty fine and thin. So for me, I like it but it would definitely going to depend on what type of hair you have if you liked it or not. I would repurchase because even thought it may not be exactly like bio silk it does do what I wanted it to do which was help my fly aways and make it look shiner. I would repurchase.
6.)Advanced Techniques shine caplets: I did not try these I gave some caplets to my friend EV and she tried them out. She liked them and when I asked her if she would repurchase she said Yes.
7.)Foot Works Exfoliating Bar Soap: (not shown in pic, it was in my moms bathroom)I had my mom help me with this one. She say she liked it but that it dried out her feet. So she found her self needing to put on lotion right after she used it. But then again isn't that what we all should do? She said she would not repurchase.
8.)Nail Experts Liquid Freeze Quick Dry Spray: I didn't feel like this product did anything to my nails. It's supposed to make them dry faster I didn't see a difference other than it left a weird only feeling on my hand and so No, I would not repurchase.
9.)Mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation : I feel like this foundation would be better for people what have nicer skin I on the other hand don't. To me this makes me feel like it works better like a setting power after liquid foundation which it how I have been using it because that's how I can use it up. No, I don't think I would repurchase.
10.) MagiX Cashmere Finish Liquid Foundation SPF 10: Ok, this is another product that I feel it more for people with better skin that mine. I feel the coverage is light a bit more than a tinted moisturizer and not enough for me. Having said that I still like it but not as a foundation more like a primer for my face. I LOVE magix the original (white goes on clear) but this cover because of the tint so as primer I LOVE it as well. So Yes, I would repurchase. Oh and I also feel the need to tell you that if you are thinking of purchasing this product, please be warned there is a weird smell but that is normal for a magix product.
11.)True color (limited edition) Quad: I was surprise at the pigmentation of this quad. I really do like it. I have been wearing it for two of three days straight because I especially like the gray color in it. Since it was a limited edition I don't know if I could purchase it again but since they do have more colors I would defiantly give one of the other color quad a try.
12.) NATURALS Vanilla Shower Gel : (Not shown in the pic because it was in my mom bathroom also)I have to say one of the things I have to tell you about this shower gel, you can't complain that this shower gel doesn't smell like vanilla. OMG, I think that is the only thing that I would when I first used it. It's VERY strong. That is why I don't think that I would purchase that particular one but I would want to try out another kind of gel.( the smell was so strong that  I down grade it to my shaving gel)
13.)SuperSHOCK Gel Eyeliner Pencil in steel, playful and bronze: I love these eye liners, they are definitely like they are described. Well pigmented and so so so so smooth. If I had to say something bad I would say they do set rather quickly but then when they do set they last all day. I would repurchase.
14.)Big Color Glossy Lip Penci in sand, rose and celestial: These is a pretty cool concept, that one would have a lip gloss in a pencil form. But then when you think about it why would you want to sharpen a gloss? they also take up about the same space but then you have to think about having to carry a sharpener with you also. NO. Plus, I just hope you don't ever leave them in a hot place like God forbid your car because you could find a mess when you get back (but that happens with lipstick not gloss) They go on just like a gloss but I would not repurchase.
15.) Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion: I do like this cream eye makeup remover I have used one bottle already and I have given one away to one of my friends. I like it but I would only repurchase it when it on sale at 99 cents. :P

But Thank You so much for reading and if you have any more questions. Leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks again,

Avon Nailwear Pro Swatches

Ok these are my fist nail color swatches I have done just like the other eyeshadow swatches were my first. I just tried my best to make them look the best I could with the small nails I have right now. So sorry I don't have longer nails...lol. These nail colors were applied with one base coat of beauty secrets ridge filler three coats of nail color and one layer of the Avon nail expert uv gloss gaurd top coat. So that is a total of five coats. I have to say two more things I didn't say in my video. For whatever reason nailwear pro nail colors are VERY runny nail colors. If you have not purchased them before you should know that before buying them because if you do buy them that might make them a lot harder to work with. At least for me it is I AM NOT A NAIL TECH! as you can see from the swaches...lol. Another thing I wanted to say about the color urban grey. Something I noticed while doing my left hand is that that color seems to have a slight shimmer to it, which really isn't noticible untill you really look at them from close up. The Vintage blue is straight up a light baby matte blue color.
One coat of filler base, three of nail color and one of top coat

These are the bottom row from left to right across:

Hopefully your able to see from these swatches, these are pretty pigmented shadows. I did not use a primer on my hand or arm when I did these so yeah they are well pigmented. But having said that I also have to mention something that I forgot to mention in my video, that they are also all shimmery aswell. I'm not sure if thats what you are into. I do personaly like them. I think there is a time and a place for everything. ( you never know when your GBF might make you go to a drag show...jk...lol). Thanks so much for checking this out don't forget to follow my blog for more updates and randomness. ;) TTYL

What's Love Got to do with it? Everything!

Since I could remember the stories of love I have encountered from the many people I have interviewed had interested me like almost not other subject. I guess that's the case when you really have never had that one true love just show up. At least in my life that's always been the case. I'm thirty and I have never been married nor have ever had a baby (these day one doesn't necessarily come with the other.) Since I have never been there I always ask about it. These are a few of their stories:
Rose and Adrian:
They are friends that have been together for more than 20 years. There love story is so sweet. I asked them one day what they thought made it work? She said respect and communication. They meet in MX when her brother was his best friend. I think because they are so similar they get along well. When they meet, she didn't even like him she thought he was dumb. As time wore on they saw a lot of each other and they started dating. When they were about to get married everyone told her not to do it because she was 15 years younger then he. She did it anyways. She says she made the right decision. So this story is even more compelling because it's about a man that loves his wife with all his heart. They found out later in their marriage she was unable to conceive. She has a medical condition that prevents her from being able to have children. They tried to adopt but the process took too long. And they grew weary of waiting so they decided that it was just going to be them too. One thing that always stands out to me every time I see them is the respect they have for each other. They still say things like honey and love to each other. Maybe because they never had kids but I suspect not. When I'm around them I feel like they would have been great great parents. But God always knows what he has planed and it's always from the best.

Maria and Ramiro:
They have been together for going on 20 years. It's funny with them. They meet in a small city in southern TX. They dated when they were 20 years old and for whatever reason broke up after two years. They meet again two years later at a party and they started talking and this time there were no games. They got married. They now have two kids and they both in high school. As I conducted the interview I ask Ramiro if when they were apart did he think of her. He smiled at me and then looked at his wife and says "Yes, I thought of her often and I missed her."

Maria and Jose:
I know the most Hispanic names ever. But the most interesting story. They meet in Los Angles more than twenty years ago. They had a good relationship from about 5 years when they became pregnant. They were so happy. Unfortunately Maria had a miscarriage at 3 months and they were unable to cope with the miscarriage together. They split up. She said to me even thought they were apart she always thought of him. They were apart for about ten years and they came to ran into each other at a grocery store in another STATE. Can you believe it??!! at a grocery story!!If I had not gotten the story from both of them I would not have believed it! Jose had moved to Houston to be find a job and Maria had moved because she had family in Houston (Jose didn't even know that) They knew nothing about each others move to Houston and yet God put them together at the same time and the same grocery store in the same state and city from which both were more than 2000 miles away from the original place they meet!! They both took that as a sigh. They got married. They are living together now and Maria take care of him because he has diabetes and can't see all that well. But isn't that amazing? How God can make things happen to coordinate things to go they way of LOVE.
I just thought I would share some amazing love stories. Just cause sometimes you need to hear stuff that God had done in other peoples lives so that you will keep hope that one day if it hasn't happened yet it will.

Movie Review: Eat Pray Love

I give it a ***** out of 5.
Why you may ask, well simply put because I relate. If you haven't seen the movie go. It will especially make sense to you if you have ever been in a place in your life when all you could do is ask for help from God to guide you on your life path. Even if you don't believe in Jesus, Messiah, Mohamed or whatever higher power. If you have ever been desperate for an answer to come your way it will be familiar. There are two scene in the movie that touched me so much I cried two tears because it made so much sense. I don't want to spoil the movie so if you want to see It STOP READING THIS RIGHT NOW, COME BACK AFTER YOU HAVE SEEN IT!! If you have seen it read on. Like I was saying the two scenes that clicked so well with my life was when she told this older guy in the movie "but I love him!" and he said "so love him. When you think of him send him love and light and drop it" Now isn't that the truth!! We have all been there right? After a break up(if it was what you thought was the love of your life) after the dust settles and you are tired and confused of remembering everything you said and what you argued about and what the problem seemed to be and whose fault it was the place where you are just tired but at the end of the day still feel love for them no matter what they did or didn't do. I relate. About three years ago my heart was broken the worst time in my life. It had taken me so long to move on from there. I did something wrong and I compromise my self worth because I didn't love myself enough. I tried to blame it on him but in reality it was me. People will only treat you the way you let them treat you. And I let him treat me like I wasn't worth anything because I thought loved him more than I loved myself. These three years its been so many times I have thought about him and about how our life could have been. How we talked about getting married and how we seemed to love each other so much. I have gone over over the things I did wrong and all the things he did wrong. But it was for nothing. Dueling didn't get me anywhere. This movie reminded me of that meaning of LOVE. Love means caring for someone even if you don't see them or touch or write to them or even communicate with them. Its wishing them well. Like the guy said send them love and light but them drop it because sooner or later you think of them less and less. Getting over a break up is hard and everyone has to do it on their own terms. No matter if it takes months or three years or a life time. I'm really glad I saw that movie. There is a scene in the movie when she is imagining that she is talking to her x husband and he is telling her I love you and I miss you and she says the same thing then love me and miss me but when you think of me send me love and light and drop it, it will get easier. So I will take that advise from now on. Send him love and light but them on to the next thought, I have a life waiting out there for me now and always.

Transgender Wife??? *On the news this week*

So you may or may not have figured out where in the world I live...does it say on my profile, I wonder? Well anyways, what is on my mind today? Well I was watching the news tonight. So unfortunately there was a firefighter that died in the line of dury at the beginning of July. This firefighter had a wife and two children from a prior relationship. So when he died his wife was supposed to inherent like 600 thousand dollars of his estate, right? Yeah but the problem with that is that his family finds out that his wife of two years was born a man. Yeah, there in lies the problem. They are now trying to say that she doesn't deserve the money because she had a sex change operation!! She had already had it when she married him. Now the family of the firefighter is saying that she coned him and never told him that she used to be a man and that had he known about that he would have never married her or left her as the beneficiary on death benefits??? So the family of the man dug out a film which the wife is being interviewed more than 15 years old. In this said video the wife a girl at the time says that sometimes she doesn't tell guys that she used to be a man. The family is saying that all the money should be left to the kids and not any to the wife. Now realistically if were in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire it would have been alright and the wife would have been able to keep the inheritance. But of course we don't, we live in TX. So being in this state which does not perform same sex marriages nor does it recognize same sex marriages she sounds like she may not even have a chance in keeping the inheritance. As it turns out that in TX whatever gender you are born and you have a sex change you are still considered a the same sex on the original birth cirtificate even after you change your sex. So then the marriage isn't legal in TX. A Tx attorney fox spoke with says that even though she was born a man she may still get the insurance if he name her beneficiary of his insurance policy (because that doesn't matter if they were married of not- you can name whoever as your beneficiary to that). Another thing at first I was totally on the wife's side because to me it doesn't matter if you choose to marry girl or guy you are married to them, they have all the rights of a wife or husband whatever. But since doing a little more research it seems that the he might have not known about the sex change after all. As it turns out the wife's attorney had told the husband about the wife's real identity in April of this year and they were separated shortly after that. So separation seems like an action of a man that didn't know he married a woman who used to be a man. So after knowing that I had a total change of heart. But then that makes me wonder if he found that out in April why not get an annulment as soon as possible? or at least change the beneficiary on your benefits or life insurance policy? Probably because he thought he would have more time. The whole story is just really sad.

So tell me peeps, what do you think?
